Foothills Community Opens New Wing

A new 26 bed wing in the Randolph P. Kowalski Health Center is completed at the Foothills Retirement Community. The new wing features all private rooms and brings the community’s capacity for health services to 44 beds. The Foothills Community is certified for expanded Medicare rehabilitation services. A family member commented at the dediation on September 25th: “I thought I was entering an upscale hotel. Florence Presbyterian Community Opens Mabry House
The Florence Presbyterian Community has expanded its continuum of care and ability to serve residents by opening The Mabry House - a memory support residence for those who have Alzheimer’s Disease and other related illnesses. The Mabry House offers 13 private residential assisted living rooms where resident’s lives are enriched through compassionate care and personal choices. Clinton Presbyterian Receives Awards
Two employees at the Clinton Presbyterian Community, Jayne Floyd and Caroline Hughes were recently presented Upstate Senior Network Caregiver Awards. The Caregiver Awards honor people who make a difference in the lives of seniors. Hughes was named Assisted Living Caregiver of the Year and Floyd was named “Marketing and Sales Representative of the Year.” They were nominated by long time resident, Dr. Joe Gettys and both recipients said what an honor and privilege it was to represent the community.

Second Annual PCSC Olympics
Residents from the five Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina gathered recently to participate in the second annual PCSC Olympics. The event gave residents the opportunity to demonstrate their athletic abilities, promote wellness and in general have fun together. Residents competed in bocce ball, putt putt golf, wii bowling and walking. After competing some athletes took advantage of neck and shoulder massages to work out the kinks. Each resident wore a T-shirt representing their community from Clinton, Columbia, Easley, Florence and Summerville. In closing ceremonies a number of gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to beaming and proud residents cheered on by fellow residents and staff. The Foothills Retirement Community claimed the tropy for the most gold medals awarded making them the overall champions of the second annual PCSC Olympics. 25th Anniversary Celebrated at the Columbia Presbyterian Community
The Columbia Presbyterian Community celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and although it has a fine reputation for quality retirement living, it is still one of the Midland’s best kept secrets. Rehabilitation Services
No one ever anticipates the need for rehabilitative services whether it be from an accident, illness or injury. At Presbyterian Communities we provide custom-designed rehabilitation therapy and skilled nursing services to assist people following hospitalization for an illness, injury or surgery. Therapy programs are delivered in a comfortable setting where compassionate and dedicated staff help patients during recovery to regain the skills and abilities needed to achieve the independence they desire. Medicare at Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina
You may utilize Medicare benefits at three of the Presbyterian Communities. Medicare Part A covers in-patient hospital care up to 90 days, a skilled nursing facility stay and rehabilitative services up to 100 days per spell of illness and home nursing care-intermittent medical care for those who are homebound.
Medicare Part B covers doctor and health care practitioner visits, health screening and selected diagnotic tests, vaccines, prosthetics, selected drugs with chemotherapy, selected durable medical equipment and dressing supplies.
