Columbia Chapel Construction Complete
The first worship service was held on November 1, 2009 - All Saints Sunday. We will dedicate the chapel this spring as soon as the stained glass windows are installed. The Columbia Community deeply appreciates the gifts of support we have received from residents, friends of PCSC and family members. Donations for furnishings (in any amount) and one stained glass window ($10,000) are still being accepted. Gifts can be made to PSCS and sent to our Ashland Road address (see above). Be sure to designate your gift for the chapel. Thank you. |

Summerville and Clinton Certified for Medicare
The Village at Summerville and the Clinton Community are certified to accept Medicare patients. We are excited about this opportunity to expand our minsitry.
What exactly does being certified to accept Medicare mean to you?
Current Residents For the first time ever, current residents of The Village at Summerville and Clinton may use their inpatient Medicare benefits for skilled nursing care. Until now, our residents have had to enter another skilled nursing care facility to take advantage of their Medicare benefits. Now they may be served by their "own family" at The Village or Clinton for rehabilitation or skilled nursing care.
Non-Residents You do not have to be a resident or applicant to be served for a "Medicare Event" in the health center at The Village at Summerville or Clinton! For example, should you break a bone or have joint replacement surgery and need physical therapy when you leave the hospital, on a space avilable basis, you may enter The Village at Summerville or Clinton for rehabilitation and use your Medicare days! If you would like more information, please contact Arlene Davis or Robin Miller at The Village, (843) 873-2550 or Ann Snider at Clinton, (864) 833-5190. It is anticipated that the Columbia Community will be certified for Medicare soon. We are thrilled to serve people in the wider community who need our services. PCSC's reputation for strong and compassionate care in our health centers can now be experienced by folks who need short-term support but are not residents.
Enhancing the mission of PCSC is a top priority for the Board of Trustees and management. Becoming Medicare certified in our communities is also a significant step in keeping PCSC competitive in today's marketplace.
